The Mahi Mahi TT disk range offers deeper rim profiles than our standard Mahi Mahi range. Choose from 60mm or 80mm for the ultimate in aerodynamic performance.
A disk-specific design allows for optimised aerodynamics while the low weight is an important part of the lively, responsive feel and streamlined performance of these wheels in all weather conditions. As with all our wheels they are handbuilt by us in our York workshop for perfect build quality every time and customisation through our choice of hubs and spoke nipples for the perfect fit with your bike.
The rim width is 20.5mm internal, 29.5mm external optimised for best aerodynamic performance with tyres measuring around 25-27mm. The width allows for lower tyre pressures without increasing rolling resistance – we recommend 60-80psi for most riders.
The Mahi Mahi disk rim is the result of 3 years’ development with our rim supplier including several iterations of rim design to perfect the tubeless fit. With 15 years’ experience of building tubeless wheels it was important for us to use a rim which offers easy tubeless inflation and maximum tyre security as well as strength. The result is a semi-hooked sidewall design which fits tubed or tubeless tyres securely and easily and offers greater impact resistance than a standard hooked bead. Unlike hookless bead rims, the semi-hook bead is suitable for running tyre pressures up to 100psi with 25mm tubeless tyres (though we recommend lower pressure for better ride quality)
Long term reliability, strength and meticulous attention to detail is standard on every wheelset we build. At the heart of this is our JRA hubs, with variants to fit any bike but all sharing the same light weight, ultra smooth and durable TPI bearings and reliable 6-pawl double-sealed 48-point freehub design. Building all wheels by hand in-house means quality control is built-in to every wheel with each component being checked as the wheel is built so we can achieve very close to zero returns.
Rim options
60mm rims offer excellent aerodynamic performance while maintaining a low weight and susceptibility to side winds. They can be used all-round and on hilly time trials.
80mm offers the best aerodynamic performance with a little more weight. Good for flatter time trials.
Spoke nipple types
The Mahi Mahi TT wheels can be built with external spoke nipples with all our usual colour options, or internal (hidden inside the rim) for maximum aerodynamic gains. If you choose internal spoke nipples just choose any spoke nipple colour from the menu options, we will use Sapim internal spoke nipples.

Just Riding Along wheelsets are built around premium quality hubs from Bitex in Taiwan. We have used these hubs on all of our own-brand wheelsets since 2014 with proven reliability and durability.
warranty
All wheels include a 5 year warranty on hub shells, and 3 year on all other parts.
Bearing wear is not included.
drive
6 pawls in 2 groups engage the drive ring inside the hub shell. The groups are offset slightly to double the points of engagement (POE) for a fast response to pedal input. M-type hubs have 6.7 degree, 54 POE, R-type hubs have 7.5 degree, 48 POE.

This wheelset is built to order. We hold most parts in stock and build them after you have ordered. The build time is advertised on the front page on under the title.

build quality
During the building process all components are bedded in, stretched, and tensioned repeatedly so the wheels won’t go out of true. We inspect, check and finish every wheel with equal care.
