How we started – A bit of history.

People are alway curious how we started, back in the dark ages of the inner tube – when we were keen XC racers we discovered and started playing with tubeless products converting non-tubeless rims to tubeless. Jon (after registering www.Justridingalong.com very early in the internet 2001) brought the Stans tubeless conversion kits and Eclipse kits for our bikes and then started selling the Eclipse (now DT Swiss) kits to other keen racers. In 2005 we started importing Stans NoTubes rims along side when they developed their first tubeless rims, straight away customers started asking for them to be built into complete wheels so – always having built our own wheels, we obliged, and borrowed a wheel stand off some friends.

WWW.JUSTRIDINGALONG.COM REGISTERED IN 2001

TUBELESS SINCE 2002

While the NoTubes range of rims increased so did our range of wheels from mountain bike to road when the NoTubes Alpha was introduced, requests lead us to explore beyond the rims of NoTubes rims. We developed into a custom wheel builder, the first online !

CUSTOM WHEELS BUILDS 2007-2016

Stocking and selling wide range of hubs, rims and tyres until 2015 when increased competion from a raft of custom wheelbuilders and increased component prices as well as imporvements in accessiblily and quality of parts lead us to look for our own brand products. We started with the Jawbone wheelset to offer the customer better quality at a lower price which proved popular. As well as reliable supplier and direct contact and feedback with the manufactures giving up many options to improve our wheelsets with specific designs.

We are always developing our wheel range and wheelbuilding techniques and technology as well as listening to what customers are looking for. Building inhouse gives us the ability to be continusiously refining our wheels.

Palmares

Jons greated achievements aren’t his few top 10 Elite XC finishes but more esoteric results – UK (and European!) singlespeed champ 2003, 2nd in Masters (30-40 year old) UK national championships in 2006 and 71st in the Megavalanche in 2009, as well as having experimented in 24 hour racing, downhilll, time trials, sportives and road racing. Rebecca won bronze (Elite category) at the national champs in 2005, ranked third in the UK in the same year as well as dabbling in downhill, road racing, enduros …. and so we have a fairly broad background.
