hub servicing

No matter how well sealed they are, all hubs will need servicing. A good strip-down and clean can prevent damage, but even if you leave it too late we can restore most hubs we sell to run like new again.

Details

At Just Riding Along we like to look after all the wheels we build. We have all the proper tools for getting taking apart and repairing the hubs we sell, as well as the know-how to do the job properly.

The charge below is for  a full strip-down, clean and service of every part which should cover most eventualities and the fitting of any upgrades requested.

We'll also inspect all parts and recommend replacement of components where necessary. If this or more work needs doing we'll call to discuss any further work and payment before we carry on.

If you want to send your hub off for a service, select the options below and add any spares or upgrades you know you'll need to your shopping cart. We can phone for additional payment if we find more parts need replacing once we get the hub.

If you would like us to send a courier to collect the wheels, please see this page:

A few notes on hub servicing:

Postage will be charged at courier rates as we assume the hub will still be part of a wheel. If this isn't the case, we'll refund the difference for normal 1st class post.

The freehubs on Shimano hubs are not serviceable but we can replace them if necessary.

This service is only available for wheels that we have built and sold.
