The newest Maxxis tread, a super-light cross country tyre with low rolling resistance but plenty of tread to keep you upright.

26" Aspens are only available in the high quality eXCeption casing. The 29er versions are available either as standard kevlar or the lighter 120 TPI eXCeption casing.

2.1 eXCeption: Average 478g
2.25 eXCeption: Average 591g
29er 2.1 eXCeption: Average 544g (6 weighed)
29er 2.1 kevlar: Average 650g (4 weighed)

We're not too sure on what rubber compounds come on these tyres but this is what we have.... All 2.1 versions (both 26" and 29er) are listed by Maxxis as dual compound 62a/70a. The 26" 2.25 are listed as 70a.

We don't know which bit of the dual compound tyres are the softer rubber and which bits are harder.
